We were really disappointed to have to cancel the Icepops 2020 conference, which had been due to take place earlier this week on the 7th July in Cardiff, however we decided to mark the occasion by producing the Icepops Annual 2020 (PDF).
For those who attended the conference last year, we gave all delegates a playful and creative Icepops Annual 2019 in printed format, based on the presentations from 2018. It was always our intention to do the same this year, based on the 2019 presentations. We were delighted to receive contributions from many of our presenters at the conference, which was held at the University of Edinburgh on 27th June 2019 and so are delighted to have been able to produce a digital edition of the Annual available for immediate download and licensed under a Creative Commons Non Commercial Sharealike (CC BY-NC-SA) licence.
The Annual contains contributions from our keynotes, Simon Anderson and Stephanie (Charlie) Farley. We also have an inspiring range of creative contributions from speakers at last year’s conference. We have dedicated the annual to the memory of Rhodri Hughes who formerly worked for the Copyright Licensing Agency and presented at Icepops 2018. Very sadly Rhodri passed away a few months ago, and we felt this publication was a tribute to such a fun loving young man.
Icepops will be back in 2021 and we have the Park Inn Hotel in Cardiff booked for 22nd June 2021. We are delighted that our three keynotes, Dr Emily Hudson, Dr Andrea Wallace and Douglas McCarthy have all agreed to speak next year. Watch this space for more details coming later in the year. In the meantime, enjoy some happy memories of Icepops 2019 in the annual or check out the photos and presentations from Icepops 2019 and 2018.
Just a quick note (it’s my birthday so I have a day off today) to say how much we appreciate you dedicating the annual to Rhodri – it’s very thoughtful.
