Copyright Mentoring Scheme

To further support the community, the ALT CoOL SIG have launched a copyright mentoring scheme run by Liesl Rowe and Irene Barranco Garcia. The scheme is primarily aimed at new copyright librarians / copyright specialists working in higher education. If you work in other library, information or related sectors then we will try to find you a suitable match, but there are fewer copyright specialists in these fields.

Mentors needed

We are keen to recruit mentors who are experienced copyright specialists working across the library and information sector. Being a mentor has numerous benefits to you as an individual such as improving your leadership skills, developing your professional network and gaining a new perspective on your own professional life. It can also be a way to gain experience of supporting others, useful evidence for those applying for professional recognition such as Senior Fellowship of AdvanceHE or CILIP Chartership.

How to get involved

If you are willing to be a mentee or a mentor, then please do complete the Form.

Further support

We have prepared a mentoring handbook which we encourage you to read before signing up as either a mentor of mentee role.

We launched the mentoring scheme on Friday 12th June at a Copyright Waffle webinar. A recording from this webinar is available where you can find out more about the scheme and hear from Irene and Liesl about how the scheme works.
