Our first keynote in 2020 is Dr Emily Hudson from Kings College, London who will be opening the conference by talking about her work on copyright exceptions. Our afternoon joint keynote will be from Douglas McCarthy and Dr Andrea Wallace who together form the Open GLAM duo. And as in previous years we will have lots of opportunities for people to share their work on creative approaches to copyright education.
We would like to encourage presenters to address one of the themes of this year’s conference:
- Building copyright literacy communities, both nationally and internationally
- Engaging and creative approaches to copyright education including using games, music, video and performance
- Copyright education as part of digital and information literacy initiatives
- Copyright education in the cultural heritage sector
- Teaching copyright as part of scholarly and open practices
However, we wouldn’t want you to feel constrained if you have a great idea relating to copyright literacy that doesn’t fit 100% into any of the above. Please just let us know and we’ll see if it fits in the programme.
We will be running the World Cafe again as this proved a popular part of the day. We also welcome lightning talks, but if you have an idea to pitch something different and unique then please do get in touch. There may be scope to include other fun ideas in the evening social, so let your imagination run wild! If you weren’t at the first conference and would like an idea of the sorts of things take took place, then do take a look at the photos and presentations from the 2019 conference.
We already have sponsorship confirmed from Talis with others soon to get on board. We really hope you might join us in Cardiff in July, and we look forward to hearing from you!
