UUK / GuildHE (late) Copyright Summer Event – bookings now open

On the 9th September the UUK / GuildHE Copyright Negotiation and Advisory Committee (CNAC) will be organising their annual Copyright Summer Event at Woburn House in London. It is aimed at those working in the university sector and will be a chance to find out the latest updates on licensing and copyright issues in higher education.

This year we are delighted to have a keynote from Professor Sol Picciotto, Emeritus Professor in Law from the Lancaster University. Sol was a member of the UUK / GuildHE CNAC for many years, including during the time that the Copyright Licensing Agency were taken to the Copyright Tribunal over the terms of their Higher Education Licence in 2001.

The event will be chaired by members of the CNAC and the morning will be a closed meeting for those in the university sector. We will be discussing some recent research into the value of the CLA Licence, and the Newspaper Licence.

In the afternoon we will be joined by representatives from various Collective Management Organisations, including the CLA, the Newspaper Licensing Agency, the Educational Recording Agency and other guests to be confirmed.

Lunch and refreshments are included in the registration fee, and the event is being sponsored by the CILIP Information Literacy Group. Don’t delay, book your place today here!
