We are delighted to be running two half day workshops based on Copyright the Card Game for CILIP on Monday 27th January 2020. The workshop focuses on an introduction to copyright law and the relationship between licences and copyright exceptions. The training is based on our popular Copyright Card Game which is an engaging and fun way of learning about copyright. All the resources, including the Card Game, are licensed under Creative Commons and available for delegates to use in their own organisations to teach others about copyright.
This training programme is for library and information staff at all levels and across all sectors. It is particularly suitable for those with a basic or minimal level of understanding about copyright. The workshop format provides an opportunity to bring all delegates up to a similar level of knowledge.
By the end of the half-day event attendees will have:
- The ability to apply the basics of UK copyright law to the primary activities of libraries and archives
- An awareness and understanding of the main licences and copyright exceptions that are relevant to libraries and archives
- An understanding of issues related to copyright and the digital environment
- A framework to help them deal with other copyright queries in their own institution.
We are running two identical half-day training sessions on Monday 27 January. Choose from either the AM or PM session
