Icepops bursary winners

We are delighted to announce the winners of the bursaries to attend Icepops 2025 at the University of Manchester next month. We are really grateful to the Copyright Licensing Agency for sponsoring the conference and allowing us to offer fully funded places to the five lucky recipients. Their sponsorship also means we have been able to keep the price low for all delegates, while offering a fabulous programme along with lunch, afternoon tea and an evening social.

Sarah Brear, Development Manager: Higher Education for the CLA, said:

“At CLA, we’re proud to support initiatives like Icepops that empower professionals across the education and library sectors to deepen their understanding of copyright and copyright literacy. By sponsoring this year’s conference, we’re helping to foster a vibrant, inclusive community of practice that celebrates collaboration, learning and innovation.

Congratulations to the bursary recipients. We look forward to seeing their contributions, and are delighted to help support them on their professional journey.”

The sponsored places will go to:

  • Bridget McCall from the University of Dundee
  • Eilish Purton from the University of Sussex
  • Eleanor Mills from Sheffield Hallam University
  • Kirsty Knowles from the University of Dundee
  • Oona Wilkinson from the University of Arts, London

Eilish Purton, at the University of Sussex attended Icepops for the first time last year and told us:

“I was lucky enough to speak at Icepops last year via a lightning talk and was so encouraged by how wonderful and knowledgeable the community is. It’s such a worthwhile event that provides an excellent environment to discuss what is often a tricky area in library/information environments. As if that weren’t enough, it’s also great fun!”

Meanwhile Bridget McCall from the University of Dundee said:

“Icepops is a fun, friendly and accessible conference for developing practical understanding of copyright law across library and information disciplines. Last year I found Kyle K. Courtney’s keynote particularly helpful for interpreting existing legislation around CDL and a library’s rights around preservation of existing collections. If you want to build confidence around copyright this is the conference for you!”

There is still time to book your place at Icepops, so don’t delay as places are limited and we will be closing the booking at the end of the month.
