Icepops 2025 is go!

The John Rylands Library, University of Manchester

We are very pleased to announce that after difficult decision to postpone our trip to Harvard, Icepops 2025 will be taking place at the University of Manchester John Rylands Research Institute and Library from 9-10 September in another ‘Pocket Edition’ format.

Our keynote speaker will be the fabulous Monica Westin, Associate Director, Content and Discovery, Library and Cultural Services at Manchester Metropolitan University. Monica has held roles at Google and the Internet Archive and we know she will provide some fascinating insights into the interesting times we are living through.

We will also be joined by Mat Bancroft, Curator at the British Pop Archive, John Rylands Research Institute and Library.

The call for papers is now open until Monday 9th June and the conference theme is “Copyright, safe spaces and sanctuary” with the following sub-themes:

  • Reflection, empathy and emotion
  • Long term thinking and planning for the future
  • Building and supporting communities
  • Supporting and nurturing others
  • Finding joy in your work

More details will be announced soon along and bookings will open shortly. As with previous years we are looking to keep the costs as low as possible.

We very much hope to see you in Manchester in September!
