For those on the closed list LIS-Copyseek you know we’ve run a couple of closed webinars just for the community in recent weeks as we collect feedback on the CLA Licence extension from higher education institutions. However, this coming Friday will be an open webinar and we are delighted to be joined by she is passionate about all things spanning culture, arts, handicraft, traditions, fashion and, of course, copyright law and policy. She gets a kick out of tackling the fuzzy legal and policy issues that stand in the way of access, use, re-use and remix of culture, information and knowledge.”
We first met Brigitte at CopyCamp in Warsaw in October 2018. Brigitte has an impressive CV and before joining CC, she worked for a decade as a legal officer at WIPO and then ran her own consultancy, advising Europeana, SPARC Europe and others on copyright matters. She is also a fellow at the Canadian think tank Centre for International Governance Innovation. She holds a bachelor’s degree in law from the Université de Montréal and a master’s in law from Georgetown University. She has been a member of the Bar of Quebec since 2003.
Brigitte will be speaking about Creative Commons licences, including those tricky interpretations of the None Commerical and No Derivatives licences. Our webinar is open to all and will be running from 11-12pm BST in Blackboard Collaborate. Thanks as ever to ALT for hosting our webinar series, we are extremely grateful to them for all their support.
